Bhimtal Estate was set up in 1840s, originally spread over a thousand acres, the estate included a tea garden that still survives under the forest that has been allowed to grow over it. When India gained her independence, The Estate was bought from Colonel Bertram Owen Jones in 1951 who had named it as Jones Estate (now corrupted to June Estate).

"What a terrific place! Perfect for someone who want to ease themself from the feverish life of the city. Situated in the arms of the mountains, mountain club is a whole world in itself. The staff is amiable and the rooms are simply gorgeous. The only difficulty you'll have is to drive through a rough 1.5 km long road to reach there but once you do, it's just heaven. The food is delicious, the restaurant is small but eloquently decorated. (*whispers* there's a tree house too.) Overall, I love this place. Will totally recommend."
